Procedure :

Breast enlargement or breast augmentation, also known as breast or boob implant , is a cosmetic surgical procedure to enhance the shape and increase the size of a woman breast by one or more bra cup size.

Breast enlargement or augmentation is the most common cosmetic surgical procedure performed on women in UK known also as boob job.

Complications

Breast enlargement is a relatively straightforward surgery, but like any surgery it can carry some risks and there are some complications associated with it:

-Infection around the breast implant is a rare complication of breast enlargement , but when it occur, it is most often seen within a week after the surgery. In some cases the breast implant has to be removed until the infection is clear then a new one is inserted.
-Capsular contracture : is the most common complication of breast enlargement,(20% to 25%) it occurs if the scar or capsule around the implant begins to tighten and squeezes the soft implant. It causes the breast to feel hard. It can be treated in different ways, but in severe case requires removal and replacement of the breast implant.

Recovery:

After your breast enlargement, augmentation surgery, you will be out and about within 24 to 48 hours, you will be discharged from your private hospital to your hotel. You will feel tired and sore for few days, the discomfort will be controlled by medication prescribed by your surgeon.

You might be asked to wear a special bra for few weeks.

The stitches will be removed within 4 to 5 days.

Your breast will be sensitive for 2 to 3 weeks and you may experience nipple burning for 2 weeks. By the 4th week your breasts will be fine and no longer sore.

You should be able to go back to work within 10 days depending on the nature of your job
You need to avoid strenuous activity for about 6 weeks.

There is no evidence that breast enlargement augmentation will affect fertility, pregnancy or your ability to nurse.

- You need to tell you radiographer that you have a breast implant when you are having a screening mammography.

Results :
