Rhinoplasty Procedure :

Rhinoplasty commonly known as nose job, is the nose cosmetic surgery for sculpting and nose reshaping. Depending on the desired result a nose job can reduce or increase the size of the nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip.

There are two main sculpting techniques used in rhinoplasty surgery (nose job): open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty.

Open rhinoplasty means that some or all the cuts for nose reshaping are made outside the nose

closed rhinoplasty means that all the cuts for nose reshaping are made inside the nose.

Side Effects of rhinoplasty:

Splint is kept for few days during which mouth breathing is advised

Recovery :

During the first 24 hours of your rhinoplasty you will be asked to keep your head elevated and minimise your movements. You will be discharged from the Hospital to your hotel after 48 hours All the bruising and swelling should disappear in 2 weeks or so. Some subtle unnoticed swelling will remain for few months.
Little bleeding is common during the first few days, you will probably be asked not to blow your nose for a week or so to help the tissues to heal.

You may continue to feel stuffiness for several weeks.

All dressings, splints and stitches will be removed by the end of week one .

Following a rhinoplasty ( nose job ) it is important to be gentle with your nose, you can wear your contact lenses when you feel like it, but should not wear glasses for 7 to 8 weeks until your nose is completely healed from the nose reshaping surgery.

You need to avoid any activity that increases you blood pressure : swimming, jogging, sex, bending…

Results :

After a rhinoplasty cosmetic surgery there is no visible scars, except in case of narrowing of flared nostrils, but even in this case the scars will fade and disappear completely in few months
